She's his queen, and ensuring she's safe and all right is his primary concern. They've found four bodies so far, and while he's almost sure there's not another to find, he has to be sure.
And even if she is okay physically, that doesn't mean she's all right emotionally. He doesn't know a whole lot about history, but he knows about how Marie Antoinette met her end. And while it's possible she doesn't know, the whole thing is just a little too similar for his comfort.
